2010 LEGACIES NOW – Spirit of BC Week 2009 Provincal Launch

CHALLENGE

For the third consecutive year, Reputations Corporation was commissioned by 2010 Legacies Now to manage the Spirit of BC Week Provincial Launch Event and to conduct provincial media relations for Spirit of BC Week and its Signature Events. The 2009 event took place in the Tri-Cities on February 7, 2009.

STRATEGY

Reputations worked closely with 2010 Legacies Now to provide logistical set-up support for the Launch Event at the Port Coquitlam Recreation Complex. Day-of event set-up and event management for the on-ice opening ceremonies was coordinated between Reputations staff and 2010 Legacies Now.

The Spirit of BC Week 2009 Provincial Launch Event was the largest and most ambitious opening ceremonies to date. It featured some unique local youth circus talent from the Theatrix Youth Theatre who performed on fabric suspended from the ceiling. The opening ceremonies also featured performances by Special Olympian figure skater Kristine White, Coastal Sound Youth Choir, Vancouver Circus School Inner Ring Circus, local rock band Sister Says, and composer of the official Spirit of BC song Tewanee Joseph’s band Bitterly Divine.
